Wake up
It's time to brush your dirty hair and yellow teeth
Take off your shoes, lets take a walk
So much to share, too little time
Once held your hand as we crossed the street
Your skinny legs look good on you
A fainted stare with a heavy glare
You're leaving me and all our dreams
Better things, a place to sleep
And I can't wait to join you in that place
Once held your hand as we talked
Shared all the plans you made with me
Fears of your loss of life
Fears of the way you're leaving me
Your skinny legs look good on you
A heavy sigh in a heavy time
You're leaving me and all our dreams
Better things, a place to sleep
And I can't wait to join you in that place
Just inspiring combination of emo-jazz in its purest form. Lyrically it goes over interesting ideas of multiculturalism, parental issues and generational trauma in some of the best ways I've heard in a while. All of the instrumental sections are just beautiful and both singers are outstanding. My favorite moments are probably the almost-yelling section halfway through "I'm From Here" and the horn sections on "Quirk". PeterA
