All along, a vision of pale pink
Had you spinning, your hands in the sink
Words heard and gather round'
And listen for the sound of latergates
Lights on and open for you to walk on through
To live a life of truth with pain
Not everyday and not everything
Is yours to lose, to slip away
Undertow and ever more
Of this, of never finding sleep
Not again, not waves of pause
Finding the gaze of a stranger's eyes
Blue and green, they look like mine
A heavy conscious of things left outside
With fear of losing track and fear of losing count
Fear of losing time, only to be seen
Is yours to lose, to slip away
Undertow and ever more
Of this, of never finding sleep
Not again, not waves of pause
A season of grief
Where the lights go out and I can't see your face
A grasping weakness, a break in the hold
Brings forth a song that's heard and told
Just inspiring combination of emo-jazz in its purest form. Lyrically it goes over interesting ideas of multiculturalism, parental issues and generational trauma in some of the best ways I've heard in a while. All of the instrumental sections are just beautiful and both singers are outstanding. My favorite moments are probably the almost-yelling section halfway through "I'm From Here" and the horn sections on "Quirk". PeterA
